Just in the short week I have been away the whole park has seemingly burst into life, Hawthorn in flower as well as Wayfaring trees. In the short turf round the car park Buttercups and Red Clover have all burst into life. While the longer grass has seemingly doubled in length.

Down in the dell a Roe Deer doe grazes quietly on the fresh shoots of Doc-leaves. It watches me as I cross the bridge to caravan terrace, where Bugle and Primrose can be seen in flower.

As I head down the steep path towards Durlston Head a Raven bursts out from the side of the cliff, it takes flight and heads towards the globe. Over the edge of the cliff Sea Thrift almost covers the tops verges, purple pompom like flower heads all gently swaying in the breeze.

Looking out over the glass observation point three Fulmars gracefully bounce in and out of the cliff. Jackdaws occasionally burst from the ledge and fly off in all directions looking very busy. The sound of splashing floats up on the air from down on the water as Guillemots preen themselves on the water. Further round the fishy smell of the Guillemot ledge below hits me in the face, while the sound of the chattering of birds below can also be heard. The water is calm as a sailing boat floats on by, hopefully it will stay calm for tomorrow evenings bird watching boat trip.

By the lighthouse the bright blue tiny flowers of Milkwort stand out against the green of the short turf around it. While of the other side of the path Early Spider Orchids are just starting to go over for the season.
