Another wet windy morning greeted me at the park. I splash my way through puddles and mud towards the large copse. Passing Blackthorn covered in fluffy white blossom. In the copse Nettles are rapidly taking over the edges of the path battling for sunlight.

Cowslips speckle taskers meadow with spots of bright yellow. The tiny trumpet like flowers hang down from the top of the flowering stem. In the mud by the gate amongst the dog paw prints and boot prints, Deer tracks can be easily spotted. They seem to have headed in to saxon field somewhere.

In saxon I head to the hay rake quarr, after searching the ground for a little bit I find what I was looking for, Early Spider Orchids. Some are just starting to flower while offers are only showing their base leaves. Scattered around in the short turf I spot Hairy Violets, there tiny purple flowers giving away their location.

In oxeye Harts Tongue Fern in just starting to unfurl along the bottom of the wall. Skylarks can he heard singing from somewhere in the distance.

At the top of field ten I’m eye level with a Kestrel hovering over the top of the gully, it fights against the find to stay in one place. From the of this hill the wind drives the rain in to my face like tiny needles, I hurry down the hill only spotting a couple of base leaves of Early Spider Orchids, to the more sheltered light house road.

I head back to the centre passing under the Kestrel I sore earlier as I cross the bridge. At the centre I duck into the hide for a while, though there is not much activity this morning not surprising really. I do spot a Great Tit pecking round the bottom of one of the feeders. A Robin soon joins it but is chased off by the Great Tit.
