A Greenfinch sat at the very top of Hawthorn singing while Goldfinch flittered around chattering away to each other around it. Blackthorn is bursting into flower to the side of the path as I enter the woodland. The sun blinds as I look out over the water today, the reflection of the sun makes the water below glisten.

Down in the Dell a Wren shouts at the top of its lungs, tail waggling in the air and its feathers all puffed up making appear a lot bigger than it is. At the front of the castle Three Cornered Leaks have burst into flower with a stack of delicate while trumpet like flower with hang down off the stem.

Heading down the steep path a Robin sings out while Herring Gulls float past on the wind in all directions. At the bottom of the hill another Wren perches at the very top of a flimsy Tamarisk branch to sing. The sun warms my back as I walk round the cliff path.

Approaching the glass observation point I spot a Raven perched in tamarisk just below. It eyes the cliff top looking for anything that could become breakfast. I approach and it spokes flying to a nearby cliff out cropping.

A finishing boat sails past with a large flock of Herring Gulls following in its waking hoping for a free meal. A shag jumps about the out cropping’s of the cliff at the top while Jackdaws watch on in amusement.  Jackdaws fly in and out of the cliff with twigs and other things to build the perfect nest.

Below the water seems alive with Guillemots a huge raft boobs around on the water with too many birds to count. In the ledge 15 are forced to sit on the big rock due to the overcrowding.

Above Tilly Whim I spot two Adders one slithers its way back to cover having to climb over the other to do so. Katie joins me to watch the snakes and spots another which I’m unable to locate.

I make my way back to the centre stopping to watch some Goldfinches chase each other down in the gully.
