I head through the car park towards long meadow to stick to more made-up paths as to avoid the mud. A Hawthorn of to the side is alive with Goldfinch chatter. In the shorter turf along the edge of long meadow Lesser Celandine can be spotted providing pops of yellow.
Dog Wood stems are covered in tiny leaves just beginning to unfurl. The leaves start out red turning a bright green as they unfurl. Horse Chestnut leaves are also starting to unfurl the bulbus growths at the end of each branch bursting into life. Blackthorn branches are just starting to burst into flower soon to look snow covered with the amount of blossom covering them.
Heading along the wood chip path through the woodland, Wild Garlic carpets the floor either side of the path, while the Snow Berry bush is bursting back into leaf.
Looking out over the aviary glade I spot a Kestrel perched in a branch over hanging the glade. From here I can admire its beautiful markings a chestnut-coloured back and black flecked stomach. It spooks as a dog walker wonders by and silently flies off into the woodland.
I duck in to the first view point I come across heading back up the coast path, here I arrive just in time to see a rather dishevelled looking Wood Pigeon fly past. With feathers sticking up in all directions it flies into a near by tree, just as I start to wonder what could have happened to this poor bird a Peregrine Falcon swoops on past. Probably the cause of the Pigeon looking so dishevelled a lucky escape for the bird.
Jackdaws line the tops of the cliff as I head round to Tilly Whim, amongst them a long neck pops up and looks around, a Shag who is perched very close to the top of the cliff. Further round a Raven swoop down in front of me and sores along the top of the cliffs top towards the light house.
