Beside the centre a pair of cackling Magpie perched in a Sycamore. Later a Greenfinch and two Goldfinch perched there instead. Flying east whilst “mewing” was a trio of Herring Gulls. In the pond, despite the fluffy blooms of Algae, a trio of Palmate Newts were seen. Vocals of a Green Woodpecker, male Pheasant and Skylark were heard.

Silently a Greater Black Backed Gull flew east over the walling centre. Upon the inland gully slopes were another pair of Magpies, two Hen Pheasant one Cock Pheasant whilst a further three female Pheasants flew further inland. At Horseshoe Bridge, a pair of Chaffinches landed in an Ash in response to my “pishing” call. The thick creepers of Old Mans Beard spiralled amongst the tree cover still holding its fluffy seeds. Over Lighthouse Green a pair of high-flying Cormorant performed a circuit before continuing east at a high altitude. Both I, and a pair of Roe Deer bucks watched a yapping dog on the coastal slope. The deer sped off sending up Jackdaws that were perched upon dry stone wall cappers. A Skylark landed upon a dead Hawthorn stem at the edge of green. Underfoot in the short turf were ground hugging orchid leaves. It was a delight to discover the miniature white flowers of Early Scurvy Grass upon the short turf above the cliff tops near Anvil Point. I did a circuit of the Lighthouse complex a passed succulent Stonecrop at the wall base. Pausing under the over head wires I look across the gully a saw a third Roe Deer that followed a cattle track “upstream”. I was pleased to hear a male Stonechat call. Before heading back upslope I notice a Badger latrine that looked as if one of them had tried to fill a former electric fence line post hole. Fox musk was smelt near the bridge as a Kestrel looked on from a Sycamore crown. The Kestrel relocated to another dead Hawthorn stem on the coastal slope.
