A male Blackbird flew over dew coat grassland and anthills. Together the garden Buddleia were a Blue Tit, Chaffinch, and Greenfinch as song rang out from Blackbirds. Both Carrion Crows and a Robin flew past on the way to Lighthouse Field. Fresh leaves were passed upon Blackberry and tight clenched buds were held by Blackthorn as the first Pheasant Cockcrow rang out. Two Herring Gulls flew east passing the Gully Mouth before a Raven arrived and landed upon the lower measured mile marker. Facing west the Raven stooped low and “cronked” into the wind before heading that way and disappearing to the coastline. Hairy Violets added a splash of purple in the grassland around the marker’s concrete foundation. A second Pheasant cockcrow appeared to be coming from near the Lighthouse.

Although a sun beam was reflected by the sea off Tilly Whim, there were no reptiles above the steps. However, a pair of Long Tailed Tits were with the Tamarisk up above. A Shag left the sea-cliffs to fly west before the large raft of seabirds was seen. Of the sixty seabirds, predominantly Guillemots, and initial eight Razorbills were seen. However, a clear group of ten Razorbills were close to the cliffs away from the crowd. Even so the sea cave still had good occupancy as a trio of Fulmars “bounced” along the cliffs. Chattering in flight were two Goldfinches that headed west. Amongst the puddles upon the wavecut platform was a solitary Herring Gull. Froth, crashing and sometimes leaping waves with occasional booms were about the gully mouth. A few Feral Doves descended to the cliff face. Jackdaws occupied lighthouse complex rooftops and overhead wires.

A Magpie quartet flew together along the downland / meadow margin. Another Pheasant cock crowed, this time from the upper gully. It was a treat to see a Green Woodpecker silently fly between Sycamores. However, it waffled from the Lighthouse side of the gully.  Somewhere near the Lighthouse Road bridge the vocal acrobatics of a Song Thrush rang out. A brief peak over a gate brought a Bullfinch into view.
