A strong cold breeze hits me as I leave the centre this morning, the kind that makes your face sting. I head towards the small copse where at the gate to the meadow a Robin stands on the post singing his hart out. In the small copse Stinking Iris provides some colour with the red berries.
Out in the meadow the moon is still visible in the sky. The ground is very muddy thanks to all the rain we have had recently 8.9mm just in the last 24hours. I slip and slide my way through the fields.
I come to the cow field where all the cows are happily munching on some grass, one is leaning over the wall to reach what is obviously a much tastier patch. Herring Gulls, Jackdaws and a couple of Magpies wonder between them looking for tasty treating turned up by the cows.
I walk along the top of the gully and looking out to sea I spot a golden beam of sun piercing its way through the cloud cover to illuminate a ship. Bird song floats up from the bottom of the gully, the birds themselves not making themselves visible.
I nearly trip over a Hen Pheasant hiding in the long grass which them fly’s off in dramatic fashion. Here and there patches of Gorse are in the flower adding pops of colour to the landscape.
I pop in the bird hide quickly where I spot a Great Tit and a Blue Tit feeding on a bird feeder together. A couple more Blue Tit can be seen hiding in the bushes of to the side wating for there turn on the feeder.
