A gorgeous early morning, as I looked out to sea it was wonderful to see the churning water below, white crests rolling down.  The water has been so calm recently that it is a bit of a novelty!

I spent a fantastic few minutes watching Fulmars gliding in and out, wheeling in large circles, two of these magnificent birds to enjoyed.

Further out a flight of gulls including a group of Black-headed Gulls, mostly now without their black heads, instead replaced by a small brown dot.

A Shag skimmed across while above it a Great-black Backed Gull cried loudly as it too glided by.

The distinctive shape of a Peregrine Falcon appeared from behind me, the barrel body topped with straight wings.

The croak of a Raven alerted me to the large black bird flying above my head.

Once it had passed, the more melodic calls of Yellow Wagtails could be heard, their bright yellow bodies and underwings visible against the blue sky.

The loud squeaking calls of the Bullfinch, as they popped up from the berry laden Blackthorn and Hawthorn, its bright pink chest flashed for all to admire.

As the sun emerged a Meadow Brown fluttered up from its hideout in amongst the stems of the Hemp Agrimony. A Speckled Wood was also in flight through the woodland glade.

The lilac flowers of the Sea Aster showing along the coast path, as are the pale green heads of the Rock Samphire, plus a few sprigs of yellow of Fleabane and Ragwort..
