A bright and sunny morning, feeling a lot fresher then and cooler than the last few days. As I started my walk, I passed a large patch of brambles completely covered in blackberries which will soon be ripe enough to eat. As I walk through south field, I notice some Knapweed and Harrows Rest still in flower having escaped being cut by the tractor. Further along I bumped into Robin, who along with Deby Kirby are exhibiting in the fine foundation gallery, he informed that he had just found some Autumn Ladies Tresses by the old hay rake in Saxon field.

I hurried along after speaking to Robin to go find the orchid for myself. When I got to the area the first thing, I spotted was the cows who are now in the lower part of this field, held back by an electric fence along the side of the old hay rake. After searching for about 10 minutes, I found what I was looking for, Autumn Ladies Tresses, with small delicate white flowers twisting there way up the flowering stem it is a very beautiful flower.

I wondered through oxeye meadow where two Swallows swooped past me in pursuit of breakfast. Along the top of lighthouse field, I stopped to watch a group of 5 Greenfinches hopping from Wild Carrot seed head to another. A Carin Crow appeared out of a bush just in front on me and swooped past me to come to land on a hawthorn just above the mile markers as if to admire the view.

For the last part of my morning walk I decided to go to the bird hide, while I sat the droning noise of Grasshoppers and the chitter chatter of far of birds kept me company while I waited to see something. A Great Tit came to feed on one of the bird feeders doing so for some time before disappearing in the bushes. A Swallow dove down to swoop of the pond repeating this twice. Three Greenfinches then landed on a Buddleia towards the back of the garden, happily hopping around before flying of.  The Great Tit then came back to the feeder obviously deciding he had not quite had his fill the first time.

I headed back to the LC to make a cup of tea and write this diary up, as I was making my tea, I watched some Swallows zooming around high in the sky over the car park.
