Heading down to the castle first thing to let in a contractor, I noticed how the rain from yesterday has cut a channel through the leaves at the side of the paths. At the bottom of the castle slope at the terrace three Jackdaws swooped past me just a few meters above my head. Walking over to the edge of the terrace to look at the grassed area 20 or so more individuals could be seen they all then flew off at once as they noticed me. The sun was just peaking through the clouds and reflecting on the sea causing the sea to sparkle beautifully.

I walked down to the glass look out point where I stopped to listen to the sounds of the relatively calm sea gently crashing against the cliffs making a rather southing noise. Continuing along a walked under a White Poplar that was sagging under the weight of the previous days rain.  Of to the side a Woodlouse could be seen resting atop of a Knapweed flower. The Knapweed was surrounded by bracken that had all started to go over causing it to be rather pretty mix of brown, yellow and green. Out to sea three Herring Gulls could be sea gently bobbing along on the sea. While two Shags flew past heading towards the castle.

Two Snails were slowing meandering there way across the path causing me to have to do a silly dance to not step on them. As I get to the entrance of Tilly Whim caves, I can start to hear the cows making a racket further up. I head over to where they are to see two of the calves running around having the time of there lives as one cows shouts at them probably telling them to calm down.

I then head back up towards the learning centre where I pop in on the bird ringers who inform me, they have seen a Barn Owl early this morning as well as a Herrin. While I was there, they had also just caught a Robin and a Pied Fly Catcher.

Also in the wildlife garden was Paul, Jake and Tom who had set up small mammal traps last night. In there traps they had caught two very cute little Wood mice.
