Leaving the Learning Centre, I was met with the sound of a Magpie calling from the roof of the building. The distant calls of Herring Gulls called also be heard coming from the direction of Swanage. Mixed in to all this noise the humming sound of Grasshoppers.
In the large cospe I noticed a patch of Garlic Mustard Herb that was starting to go over. The flowering stems were starting to turn yellow and fall over. In the hedge row along Taskers Wild Privet is flowering. The flowers are made up of lots of tiny little white flowers making it look like a pompom of sorts. The flowers them self also have a lovely sweet subtle scent to them. They are just starting to turn brown so make sure find some and smell them for yourself while you still can.
As I walk along the footpath through the middle of Saxon field a Skylark rushes out the grass 2m ahead of me heading high up into the sky. Further along two more Skylarks are having an ariel disagreement with one of them chasing the other away.
I notice a small clump of about 6 Pyramidal Orchids, they are staring to show the first signs of going over with the flowers staring to go slightly brown at the bottom. I spot another lone orchid which is remarkably darker in colour then the ones I just sort.
6 Marbled White Butterflies flutter along above the meadow in front of me. I then walking through a patch of Bracken and stop to smell the musky smell of the plant that can be smelt from just standing near it. The scent of Bracken and Ferns has been something perfumers for years have tried to capture but have never quite been able to do it.
When I arrive at the cliffs, I notice a large group of Guillemots of the water all floating in a ruth line of the water. The distant chattering of the Guillemots can also be heard. Looking out to the cave it seems not as crowed as usual as only 7 individuals can be seen having to sit of the rock.
