As I start my walk past the wildlife garden three Blue Tits fly past infront of me landing in a Hawthorn. It seemed to me that they were two young fledgelings chasing there parent around. Walking through the meadows the unwavering sound of Grasshoppers can be heard in the long grass with actual Grasshoppers no where to be seen.

Three Meadow Brown butterflies seem to follow me along the path towards saxon field. I notice some slows starting to form on Blackthorn. Once I enter saxon field I hear the song a Skylark far off proclaiming its territory.

It seems to be a good morning for butterflies, as I spot several Marbled White butterflies and Meadow Brown butterflies. I carefully make my way down the hill towards lighthouse road. I look up the slope towards field 10 where I stop an odd-looking dead tree with a funny shaped branch coming off it. I look through my binoculars to see a Peregrine Falcon sitting atop the dead tree. Occasionally it flaps its wings and calls out in a very distinctive scratchy screech. I wonder if it could be a juvenile calling for its parents.

Today is obviously a good day for spotting Peregrines as when I get to the coast path atop the cliffs I stop and chat to a bird watcher who also tells me he has seen two Peregrines this morning. I carry on walking along the cliffs and come across a couple who are photographing a Guillemot who almost looks to be posing for them. A shag then flies path just above the water heading west. I slowly make my way back up to the centre feeling like I have had a rather successful outing this morning.
