Heading through the car park car towards Long Meadow I was met with the laugh of a Green Woodpecker hiding somewhere in the trees. Arriving at Long meadow I spot a Common Spotted Orchid on the corner right where the picknick area meets the meadow. Passing under a Lime Tree with a full canopy with the light shining on the leaves giving the impression they are even greener than they are.
Looking out to sea there is quite a lot of sea traffic with a few fishing boats and some sailing boats making the most of the beautiful weather. Walking through the woods towards the castle I notice a Blue Tit hopping around a Holm Oak. Further along I stop and listen to a couple of Robins singing in a Hole Oak as well.
There is quite a few runners out this morning taking advantage of the beautiful weather before it gets to warm, or possibly having a run before heading to the Learning Centre for Park Yoga.
Walking down towards the globe I admire the Red Valerian growing around the top of the globe and watch as a Great Black Backed Gull fly’s overhead. Just below the Globe out to sea I spot a large group of Herring Gulls making a ruckus shouting a screaming about something in the water. Some flying over the water and some on the water, I suspect there could be a school of fish below. As I continue walking along the cliffs, they seem to follow me along possibly as the school moves.
Getting to the viewpoint just down from the castle I meet some bird watchers one of them informs me he has seen Common Turns and Sandwich Turns along with the usual suspects. I also stop and watch a Fulmar gliding in and out of the cliffs for a bit before heading on. Passing by some Tamarisk Trees I notice they have started to flower with very delicate light pick flowers that almost look fluffy to the touch. When I reach Tilly Whim caves, the best place to look back and have a look at the Guillemot cave, they seem to busy and full as usual with ten of them having to sit on the rock to make space for others.
As I walk back the Centre a Magpie hops along the path in front of me before disappearing into a bush.
