Getting out of my car this morning I was greeted by Robin singing atop an Ash tree in the middle of the car park. Walking down along long meadow I could see the Guiders from local Guiding group busily setting up the day’s activity for the girls before they get here, it is looking to be a great day for them with fantastic weather.

The whole park seemed very quiet and still this morning with only a slight breeze only being interrupted by the usual dawn chorus and the occasional jet ski. Looking down in to Durlston Bay I could see a fisherman pulling something up on to his tiny dingy, I was unable to see what it was. What ever he had caught had also caught the attention oh a Herring Gull which was now circling above him.

I continued my walk along the coast path noticing some Hawthorn covered in blossom one of which had turned slightly pink. Looking out to sea two Shag flew past very low to the water heading west.

Further along I could see the usual large raft of Guillemots out to water I would later be able to hear them splashing about cleaning themselves in the water, thanks to the seas being very calm this morning. A Fulmar could also be seen gliding elegantly in and out of the cliffs.

Along the edges of the path, I noticed some Stinking Iris in flower these are the first one I have seen this year. The smell coming up from the Guillemot cave seemed very strong this morning, so I moved quickly along not wanting to smell it for to long. When out the range of the Guillemot cave smell I admired some Sea Thrift along the very tops of the cliffs.
