In the wildlife garden a Bullfinch was spotted, whilst a male and female Pheasant were close to the hide. Of course, it was Blue Tits and Great Tits that visited the feeders. The Ravens I heard were to fly east and claim the upper Mile Marker perch from a pair of Carrion Crow. The Ravens were to preen each other about their heads before flying further east along the coast. Meanwhile, a Song Thrush performed its vocals from Blackthorn and Elder cover near the Small Copse. A Green Woodpecker, although heard was unseen. At the feet of a cluster of Hereford cattle at Magpie explored. Another six of the cattle were grazing the Goat Plot, thankfully! Amongst the Gorse a Stonechat was spotted whilst a Shag flew west over the sea.
Two coasters were offshore whilst under the gentle chug of a motor a support of sail, a Sloop headed for Swanage. Six Feral Doves descended the cliff face whilst the Lighthouse gave a wink of light. Today a trio of Guillemot had to perch on the sloping boulder as cave occupancy was high. Amongst the two score said birds upon the brine were at least ten Razorbills. A pair of Fulmars “bounced” off the cliff face. I admired not only recent work party coast path vegetation clearance but also the new Tilly Whim interpretation panel. Today I counted seven individual unidentified Coral Fungi specimens below the Mile Markers. Many such organism grow under tree cover rather than the short, trampled maritime grassland. A Fox ascended the gully slope passing the Hereford cattle. It sneaked under the electric fence and headed towards the Goat Plot. Upon realising I was watching it the mammal ran off again passing under the live wire before racing upon hill. A second clear Stonechat was seen upon the sward will Jackdaws beside cattle. Amongst the Gorse near myself at least two Wrens were having a “battle of the trills”. Upon the Lighthouse’s Weather vein, a pair of Jackdaws perched towards the arrow head. A pair of descending Feral Doves made an odd sound as their wings ripped through the air. Between scrub cover a Blackbird duo emerged. Towards horseshoe bridge a large football size cluster amongst a Willow suggested a possible Squirrel dray.
