Super sunny and a light wind. Only needed four layers on today!

Plenty of birds around the Learning Centre this morning, the tops of the Ash trees covered in Starlings, House Sparrows and Goldfinches. The odd Jay and Magpie skulking around.

Some of the tree stumps are acting as brilliant hosts for several fungi species, one stump in particular, near the Learning Centre was covered in Turkey Tails and had a great specimen of Golden Ear erupting from it.

Out on the meadows, the hedges were filled with bird song. In and amongst the Blackthorn were Song Thrush, Blackbirds, Robins, Wrens and Dunnocks.

In the Gully between the lighthouse and tilly whim, 4 Stonechats were busying themselves, flying from perch to perch. An Oystercatcher flew up from a small platform, only visible from low tide, and headed East. Unfortunately no, Black Redstart today, but lots of people have seen it recently.

The coast path was positively booming with birdlife. Rock Pipits flew from capper to capper along the dry-stone wall, a ♀ Sparrowhawk bombed across the clifftops flying back into the Tamarisk and the Peregrines were on a date having a Pigeon picnic. On the water I counted 4 Razorbills interspersed between the hundreds of bobbing Guillemots. Lots of Shags were out on the water fishing. Three species of Gulls were sighted this morning, 3 Greater black-backed Gulls, a huge squabble of Herring Gulls and 2 Lesser black-backed Gulls. One 1st year Herring Gull made me think thrice, but nothing super rare today.

In the Dell were a charm of 20+ Goldfinches, 3 Bullfinches, 2 Wrens and several Blue Tits, Great Tits and Long-tailed Tits.
