Flying around the meadows a wonderful flock of Starlings, 150+ of them taking off, swooping and sweeping across the sky, the sound of them chatting filling the air as they dropped together into a large clump.

A quick check on the Hereford Cattle, whose orange-red coats where shining in the sunlight.  Walking across the same field a Fox, again its fur being lit by the golden glow of sunshine.  Every now and then the Fox would stop and nuzzle the ground, possibly searching for beetles and earthworms in the soil or the cow pats.

Along the Drove, the Hawthorn and Blackthorn bushes were being used as perches by a flock of Redwings.  These birds sporting an obvious pale stripe just above their eyes, and at times showing off the splash of red under the wing.

A sudden eruption of noise and activity from the long grass just near my feet, and a Pheasant shot out in front of me, caused me to catch my breath, just as I recovered from the shock, another emerged.

Down by the cliffs a Peregrine Falcon was perched on the rock, its body facing inward but its head turned to look behind and out to sea.

On the cliffs the Guillemots were present again, but only 50 of them today, many however still in their winter – or non-breeding plumage.

Soaring overhead a Sparrowhawk, the wide wings and the flap-flap-glide action a couple of the features to look out for.

From the Tamarisk, a Robin was ticking, answered by another which was in the adjacent Gorse patch, where a few yellow flowers are blooming.

A Jay flashing its large white rump as it flew into the woodland, where a flock of Long-tailed Tits hung in the Elms.
