The Castle, Visitor Centre, Shop and Gallery are currently closed

The Cafe is open for takeaway hot drinks and food only (between 10 and 4) until Monday 4th January when they will be closed

We are in a Tier 3 Very High Alert area please follow the government guidance here:

The wider park is open as normal with toilets available at the Learning Centre. Rangers are on site every day, and pay and display machines are operating in the car parks.

Volunteering opportunities are available across the park, please email for details



  • From Saturday 8th August, face coverings must be worn in the Castle, except for those who are exempt, or while eating or drinking in the café
  • Please maintain a 2m distance from other visitors at all times.
  • Durlston has an enhanced cleaning schedule, with regular cleans of the car park machines, toilets and other facilities.
  • Hand sanitiser is provided at various stations around the park for hand hygiene
  • Gates around the meadows closest to the car parks have been propped open for ease of access, the remainder are closed for stockproofing for cows, so please close these after using.
  • Rangers are on site during office hours and can be reached by calling 01929 424443 or visiting the Castle.


  • The Castle is open daily from 10:30-16:00
  • There is no need to pre-book a visit
  • You will be asked for a name and contact number before entering
  • There is a one way system in place in the castle
  • Please sanitise your hands before entering
  • Please wear a face covering 
  • The Treckinetic Wheelchair is not currently available for hire, but a Tramper is available for hire. Please contact the office to arrange a booking, or use our online booking form.


  • Seventhwave Cafe is open, operating with table service and a reduced capacity. It is open from 10:00 - 16:00 seven days a week.
  • Booking is strongly advised.
  • Please pay by contactless payment if at all possible.
  • The kitchen is operating with an enhanced cleaning schedule, as well as a one way system and screens between staff and customers.
  • Please observe social distancing while inside.
  • The Kiosk is now closed for the season.


  • Toilets are available beside the Learning Centre.
  • They are operating with a 1 person at a time capacity.
  • An enhanced cleaning schedule is in effect and hand sanitiser is available on the door.
