Here at Durlston we have taken as many measures as reasonably possible to safeguard our visitors. Durlston Country Park has achieved the "We're Good to Go" Industry standard mark set by Visit Britain allowing you to visit us with confidence. We want all of our visitors to have a safe and enjoyable visit, so please refer to the following guidance:



  • From Saturday 8th August, face coverings must be worn in the Castle, except for those who are exempt, or while eating or drinking in the cafe
  • Gates around the meadows closet to the car parks have been left open for ease of access. Others are closed for stockproofing  for the cows.
  • Please maintain a 2m distance from other visitors at all times.
  • Durlston has an enhanced cleaning schedule, with regular cleans of the car park machines, toilets and other facilities.
  • Hand sanitiser is provided at various stations around the park for hand hygiene.
  • Rangers are on site during office hours and can be reached by calling 01929 424443 or visiting the Castle.


  • The Castle is open daily from 10.30-5
  • There is no need to pre-book a visit
  • You will be asked for a name and contact number before entering
  • There is a one way system in place in the castle
  • Please sanitise your hands before entering
  • Please wear a face covering 
  • The Treckinetic Wheelchair is not currently available for hire, but a Tramper is available for hire. Please contact the office to arrange a booking, or use our online booking form.


  • Seventhwave Cafe is opening, but with a reduced capacity. It will be open from 10:00 - 16:00 seven days a week.
  • Booking is strongly advised.
  • Please pay by contactless payment if at all possible.
  • The kitchen is operating with an enhanced cleaning schedule, as well as a one way system and screens between staff and customers.
  • Please observe social distancing while inside.
  • The Kiosk is open serving hot drinks and snacks beside the Castle from 11:00 - 16:30 all week.


  • Toilets are available beside the Learning Centre.
  • They are operating with a 1 person at a time capacity.
  • An enhanced cleaning schedule is in effect and hand sanitiser is available on the door.
